His special interest is the film period 1888-1935. D.W.
Griffith's The Birth of a Nation (1915) is his favorite film, and
believes that Griffith is the finest director in film history. His
Intolerance (1916), Broken Blossoms (1919) andWay Down
East (1920) still amaze and thrill audiences today.
